Play Therapy

The play therapy package is offered to children aged 5 and above who have suffered or are suffering trauma or loss. It is a non-directive, child centered approach whereby the child explores his or her feelings through play and begins to make sense of their experiences. The therapist will provide and set out a selection of toys that would be relevant to the child’s experiences. The child is then free to explore their surroundings in which ever form they choose. The therapist will then interpret the child’s expressive behavior by observing the play, recording that information and then make a final assessment on child’s emotional state. The sessions are fully supported by the therapist and are delivered in the school setting over a 12 week period.
This non-directive approach enables the therapist to assess and evaluate the child’s emotional state and their current environment through the significance of their actions. ‘That information is then used as a basis to refer the family/ child on to other agencies for further assessment. We have found that using some directive pieces within sessions can assist our work and if we feel this is necessary we will include carefully chosen tried and tested activities that the therapist believe will be useful for the child.

Talking Therapy

This package consists of one-to-one emotional support for children aged 11 to 18 years. The support is client led to promote open discussion & expression. Generally the service is delivered in either school or at college however an agreement can be made between the client and the therapist for the service to be delivered elsewhere. The sessions are delivered at the clients own pace and is strictly confidential. This package is open ended.
Talking therapy will encourage and strengthen relationships, it can also offer a different way of thinking or an alternative way to expressing their emotional issues going forward.

We charge for an  individual 6 or 12 week package:

Initial Assessment fee £60 

£60 per session plus vat .This covers the cost of a qualified therapists time and travel costs as well as relevant toys or equipment the therapist feels is  useful to aid a child's therapy.

If a school or organisation would like to "buy time" they will have access to a therapist to use for any children they wish to refer once per week in term times.

Professionals can refer to the service for individual packages paying for 6-12 weeks at a time or
Professionals such as schools have the opportunity to buy a member of staffs time
This is broken down into two options
One day a week of time bought for the academic year - £6500
Half day a week of time bought for the academic year - £3000
This approach offers consistency, flexibility in the working approach and a staff member on in house one day a week

THIS IS BASED ON AN INITIAL 12 SESSIONS WITH A REVIEW AT 6 WEEKS TO DETERMINED THE PROGRESS MADE AND THE POTENTIAL OF FURTHER SUPPORT AFTER THE 12 WEEK INTERVENTION

ALL REFERRALS ARE CONFIDENTIAL WITH A COMPLETE INITIAL ASSESSMENT TO IDNENIFY HISTORICAL ISSUES AND THE LEVEL OF SUPPROT REQUIRED
